Using lanyards to display a photo ID is a common method for identification purposes, especially in the workplace. From small start-ups to large corporations, many businesses are beginning to turn to this practice as a way to make sure they can identify their employees and prevent anyone that is not authorized from entering a building and/or other facilities. When it comes to being an employee that is required to wear their photo ID on a lanyards, there are some advantages and disadvantages that may come with this aspect of the job. The biggest advantage is the fact that the lanyard makes it easy to show your picture ID without having to dig in your wallet or pocket every day. Because of the simplicity in design, lanyards do not get in the way and allow your ID to stay close to you, which reduces the chances of it becoming lost. However, even though lanyards do a great job of keeping a picture ID in place, there are instances where employees will misplace the lanyard completely. If you happen to lose your lanyard ID and cannot find it, you’ll have to get a new one through your job and may even have some trouble gaining access to the parts of the building you typically work out of. Having a lanyard lost or stolen can be an inconvenience for any employee, especially if you are new and not well known around the office yet. If your job has security guards that require you to check in, the alternate process of signing in might be an annoyance that you will have to put up with until your receive your new ID. |
